So much so, that its own studio tried to kill it. (Fox, of course.)

It was supposed to take place 500 years in the future. But anyone who saw it knew we were really only about five to ten years away. And here we are.

At least Camacho...

1) Cared for his people and wanted to do right by them.
2) Recognized that there was a life-threatening agricultural problem and that something needed to be done about it.
3) Literally chose the most demonstrably capable person he knew to try to figure the problem out and trusted in his advice, even if he didn't understand the science himself.

Our own Resident Fathead makes President Camacho look like Thomas Jefferson.
