Called my Representative and Senator today with a bold idea:

Since we are now a people that forces unaccompanied children to stand in court for the 'crimes' of their parents, I propose making that policy an across-the-board standard for all.

Drunk driving?
Insider trading?
Littering?
Unpaid tickets?

The WHOLE family is incarcerated, separated and forced to navigate the U.S. legal system just like these babies.

There.

Equal protection under the law.

obviously, but that is what I said to their offices.

Manner of entrance (at an official crossing point) is separate from purpose for entering (seeking asylum).

Even when you are seeking asylum, it is a (criminal) misdemeanor to cross between crossing points.

as I have pointed out before.

It is as if we instantaneously locking up parents until trial and putting their children in foster care in response to penalties)

don't they incarcerate the whole family and the next 3 generations to punish wrongdoers. You know how much the Dotard admires that dictator. He would love that.

drunk driving, insider trading, litering, or unpaid tickets, it is not analagous.

To the extent they crossed between official crossing points, every single member of the family committed the same crime. In your proposal, only one member of the family committed a crime.
