USA Today

has an article about "The Democratic Party Left Me Behind". The few lines i read go on to say, "and I'm not the only one." Something else about blah, blah, hatred from the left, blah blah. The bots have infected some staff writer apparently. I hope normal people aren't stupid enough to believe this horseshit.

Here are their bullet points.

The Democratic Party and its followers have left me for many reasons, but here are a few examples:

The party and its followers have been showing illiberal tendencies for some time.

It has gone off the rails on immigration, free speech, identity politics and some other issues — a topic I’ll defer for another day.

I’m no Trump supporter, but I’ve been horrified and repulsed by the political and cultural left’s hatred, demonization and mistreatment of President Trump, his family, his administration officials and his voters, which is even worse (if that’s possible) than what the right did to President Obama.

One does not have to be Russian to be ignorant and completely self-centered.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/nation-now/2018/07/09/democratic-party-left-me-column/766561002/

She also claims a part of it is professional. This person is all over the map.

More:

For example: Defending Hillary Clinton in 2016 and the Democratic Party’s current far-left stance on immigration would’ve required me to be dishonest about my views or to contort my opinions into impossible positions.

So more Manchin, less Clinton?

Here it is. She is one of those beautiful leftist independents!!!

I see myself as a political independent these days, who’ll opine based on what she sees and thinks, not along party lines.

And a self-proclaimed "renegade!"

For what it’s worth, renegades like me are like that canary in the coal mine: We’re trying to warn Democrats when they’re tone-deaf or still don’t get it.

But as the months rolled by, my perspective shifted. Various facts have come out about the various concerns/conflicts of interests surrounding the investigation — the unverified dossier paid for by Democrats that was used to apply for FISA warrants, the FISA abuses, the partisan, anti-Trump nature of some top FBI agents, and much more.

These are facts not dismissible as right-wing talking points.

Now I’m in the majority of Americans (53 percent) who think the investigation was politically motivated.

To the Editor:

I am a liberal Democrat who, not being able to stomach either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, voted for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate. I hope the Democratic Party does some serious reflection on why its candidate lost.

It bears some part in all of this — for anointing a candidate like Hillary with so much baggage, for neglecting blue-collar workers across the Rust Belt states, for failing to see the extent to which Hillary’s email server and Clinton Foundation controversies turned off many voters, including Democrats like me.

I hope that The New York Times also does some reflection on how it got things so wrong this past year.

Prabhu: Liberalism today - in Donald Trump's presidency - has lost its way

Today’s liberalism is about curbing free speech, especially on college campuses. It has regrettably become not just about encouraging groupthink but about enforcing it, through social media. Examples: Kanye West, Shania Twain and many others.

The left today delights in low, mean-spirited, ad hominem attacks within the safety of their own echo chambers. Examples include mocking Melania Trump’s accent and Sarah Sanders’ appearance.

They did a replace all to swap out the word conservative with liberal and right with left, etc. Conservatives have been doing this for decades. They basically describe themselves and say they are talking about the liberals. People who are no good at thinking things through seem to fall for this kind of crap. Hey, pretty much all Trump is about is low, mean-spirited, ad hominem attacks and he basically only wants to talk to and deal with conservatives. He is the Republican president, the Republican party's leader. He is the one setting the tone, not the liberals. I bet Trump privately makes fun of Sanders appearance. That's absolutely something he would do. If she ever did something to cross Trump, he'd be saying some real awful shit about her appearance publicly, guaranteed.

I’m A Liberal, And I Agree With Sean Hannity That American Journalism Is Dead

But as 2016 rolled on, I became quietly incensed. I couldn’t help noticing repeatedly that the mainstream media was shielding and enabling Clinton in her dissembling and media avoidance. I noticed that the commentators at CNN, MSNBC, and the NYT either ignored or made light of Clinton’s many problem areas: the private email server, compromising of state secrets, and the questionable multimillion-dollar donations to the Clinton Foundation. (Yes, the Times broke the story in 2015 about Clinton’s personal email account, but I’m talking here about its 2016 treatment of her candidacy.)

Bernie Sanders, my candidate, had the “it” factor in spades; he with the crumpled suit, rumpled hair, had genuineness, passion and honesty as his main accouterments.

https://www.tennessean.com/story/opinion/columnists/2016/11/26/94244958/

Seems I was spot on with my HA Goodman reference.

From Bernie Sanders to Johnson. She is well put together!

Sanders has some amazing supporters. This person isn't one of them and stands in direct opposition to progress.

Some solid woo for you.

In a nutshell, Trump’s Access Hollywood tape was obscene, but almost as obscene to me was the WikiLeaks revelation that Clinton Foundation money had helped pay for Chelsea Clinton’s wedding and living expenses for a decade.

Quote is from the link above. This link provides additional info on the woo salesman.

This looks like more of the hashtag walkaway nonsense currently being peddled without much success. It's good to keep up on this stuff, though, because it never really goes away. It lies dormant, like herpes, waiting for an opportune moment of stress to erupt again.
