Trump's approval is at 42%. I'll take that in the mid terms every day. Carter in 78, Reagan in 82, Clinton in 94, Bush* in 06, Obama in 010 were all higher than that and their parties suffered losses. Heck, the 78 mid terms came on the back of Carter brokering a peace between Egypt and Israel, and it still couldn't save his party.
