One of the Republican senators back from a trip to Moscow is suggesting that Congress went too far in punishing Russia for meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Ive been pretty upfront that the election interference as serious as that was, and unacceptable is not the greatest threat to our democracy, Sen. Ron Johnson said in an interview with the Washington Examiner published over the weekend. Weve blown it way out of proportion.
We need to really honestly assess what actually happened, what effect did it have, and what effect are our sanctions actually having, positively and negatively, the Republican from Wisconsin said.

(21,130 posts)He had some pretty suspicious voting tallies. He got more votes than Twitler and in some countries the votes doesnt match up to totals. His election was manipulated in his favor. He is illegitimate.

(16,254 posts)allowing it to happen. They won't monitor/discipline or censure the sitting POTUS, nor put in place any safeguards against meddling by Russia (or, any other country) in the future of our elections. The 2018 election is critical to the health of our country, but all they can see is power. I can't believe he can't "see" the damage for himself.
I wonder how much money Johnson received from our Russian friends?
