If you are a Republican Senator and you choose to vote against Trump's SC nominee...?

...then you are putting a target on your back for the next election.

So, if your decision is to vote against the nominee, why would you remain a Republican? If you know you are going to be attacked and defeated by your own Party, why would you remain in that Party??

For example, would it not make more sense for a Senator such as Susan Collins, who is from the same state as Independent Senator Angus King, to switch her affiliation from Republican to Independent, and to caucus with the Democrats, than to hang around as a Republican and be crucified in your next election?

I think there may be a couple of Republicans thinking exactly along these lines. Either you vote with Trump or you leave the Party?

This country is so far gone at this point, any R who peeled off on this vote would have to go into the witness protection program ...

There is too much NRA (Russian) money floating around.
Don’t know when we can get out of the swamp. Will probably have to fight for a generation.
