Just how much trouble is Rep. Jim Jordan in over alleged Ohio State sexual abuse?

In politics, as in life, there are varying degrees of denials. But only one denial counts — a full, unequivocal one. And in the case of what Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) knew about sexual abuse happening while he was a coach for the Ohio State University wrestling team decades ago, he has yet to give one.

“I never saw, never heard of, never was told about any type of abuse. If I had been, I would have dealt with it,” Jordan told Fox News on Friday night of allegations by seven former Ohio State wrestlers that as assistant coach there, he knew or must have known of misconduct surrounding the team

But when Fox News host Bret Baier asked Jordan to explain why more than a half-dozen wrestlers insist that sexual misconduct was discussed on a regular basis in the locker rooms, Jordan had this to say: “Conversations in a locker room are a lot different than people coming up and talking about abuse. No one ever reported any abuse to me.”

At every family gathering I heard several cousins talking about being sexually abused by an uncle. I didn't do anything about it because nobody reported it to me directly.

What a creep.

I recall quite a shitload of female teachers the last few years hosing their students. The 'Uncle sexed me' bit...is past it's expiry date, and does a disservice to good Uncles everywhere.
Just sayin.

"No one directly told me using the words abuse or telling me what specifically happened."

Dickhead.

Hopefully common sense prevails. Of course he knew. Very clearly everyone did.

I'm curious to know what the Strauss was holding over them. It had to be something. My guess is steroids perhaps.

For ex, Tom Corbett was a political victim of the Sandusky scandal because he was preceived by Penn State alums to be partly responsible for the actions of the Board of Trustees. Corbett was the first governor in a very long time not be re-elected and broke the 8 years D, then 8 years R governor pattern.

Ohio State is a point of pride with Ohioans. It's entirely possible alumni and fans will take their anger out on Jordan for not doing anything to stop what is now a public embarassment to OSU.
