Hate to say it but this is a done deal

As bad is this is, we have no power to stop it. It is more important now to work to keep the red state Democrats in office so that we can work at winning back the Senate. It sucks but it is the hand we currently hold.

it would hurt their chances for re-election? Isn’t women vote is essential to their victory?

to vote against their self-interests. As a woman, this nauseates me, but misogyny isn't limited to men.

We need to win back the House and the Senate. Forcing red state Democratic Senators to go on a suicide mission will only hurt our chances to win back the Senate.

Indivisible, MoveOn and a zillion other groups are fighting it too.

That is our only chance. As long as we don’t control any branch we have no power. Elections have consequences, it’s time to win some elections.

Like... let's try to mobilize some support, talk strategy, and put pressure on the RED STATE REPUBLICANS who could see their support with white women erode if Roe vs Wade is overturned.

by standing up for liberal values by raking Kavanaugh over the coals, by raising the idea that Trump may've made this pick to save himself from indictment, etc.

Ultimately he will get in unless something bad comes out, we don't have the votes. Even if we win the Senate there are red state Dems who may not vote with us. Trump will be president for the next 2 years at least. IOW, Kavanaugh is in.

He's not a terrible nominee, could've been far right like that Barrett lady, he seems decent mainstream conservative and who knows could have a libertarian streak like Kennedy did.

So, we rally our base, Kavanaugh gets thru before the election, the base takes that energy into the voting booth.

We must win the House, as then we would have some measure of power. Right now we have none.

inch of the way. In fact, it is VITAL that they fight, delay, accuse, project Kavanaugh evil ahead, of being in the pocket of the IRReligous Right/the Big Corporations/Trump. Even when Democrats win again, it will have served a purpose to expose Kavanaugh for being the RW toadie that he is, and how important it is to win the Senate back to protect the remaining picks. What's done is done, but at least use the ashes of the SC to fire up Dems.

We only have ourselves to blame. When you split the vote, this is the outcome. Next time if you don't like the presidential candidate, hold your nose and pull the lever for whoever is the Democratic candidate anyway. Don't write in fucking Mickey Mouse. Don't vote for a third party candidate who has zero chance of winning. I have a tiny shred of hope from something Lawrence O'Donnell said last night. He noted that in Kavanaugh's writings, he's not citing a Constitutional opinion, it's his opinion. When he says a POTUS shouldn't be indicted, etc., it's his opinion that there should be a law prohibiting it which means it's currently legal. The SCOTUS interprets the law and doesn't make new law. It's all very discouraging, but we made our bed and now we're trapped in it. I'm all for squawking as long and loud as possible, but in the end we should be praying to the great bait and switch gods that he's got a little Souter in him. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!
