I always think through many degrees of indirection. One must do that to ensure that they are not succumbing to groupthink or a false belief of being right on any particular issue or occurrence. Immigration is an issue that while Progressives seem to be winning the hearts and minds of many, it may be wind pie, a mirage.

(30,481 posts)Donald Trump is an out of the box politicians who may surprise Democrats and pull victory out of the defeat of the current iteration of Trumpcare. It would not be surprising if Trump made the following calculus. Obamacare is expensive. Republicans have failed to come up with a viable plan. I (Trump) will now send to Congress my single-payer Medicare for all scheme. Do not for one moment believe this is an impossibility.Egberto Willies

(20,018 posts)This is exactly why the Dems keep losing ground: They keep telling each other that the best approach is to keep your finger in the wind and do NOTHING out of a sense of duty or principle.
And the public sees that.
