Pardons? Go for it.
I've never been to prison but have had the unfortunate experience of 90 days in the county lockup (untreated alcoholism.)
A little insight for those who've never been in jail...
It is terrifying. It is dehumanizing. It is miserable. It is humiliating. It is too cold or hot. It is loud. It is soul-crushing. It is uncomfortable. It is inhumane. It is mind-warping. It is lonely. You are only a number. Your life stops. You are institutionalized and are at the mercy of personnel making shit wages and all that entails. Many surrounding you are psychologically and/or physically ill. I watched men who had been there a long time slowly going insane. Insanity is the price you pay for a criminal offense? Hell no.
Now, having said all that, I believe trump pardoned the ranchers solely because it pleases his base. And even though I support pardons and don't particularly care who does them, doing them for political and not humanitarian reasons is bs.
