Woman calls cops on black 12-year-old boy delivering newspapers in Ohio neighborhood

Woman calls cops on black 12-year-old boy delivering newspapers in Ohio neighborhood

A fledgling paperboy working alongside his mother in suburban Columbus, Ohio, came face-to-face with a cop after a neighbor thought he was up to no good. The nosy neighbor spied the 12-year-old boy, who is black, hop out of a van and walk up to a handful of Upper Arlington homes Friday. She initially assumed he was delivering newspapers, she told authorities, but soon thought otherwise.

"I noticed they were walking up to houses with nothing in hand and one of them came back with something," the 911 caller said, according to WSYX-TV. "It seemed kind of suspicious."

The mother explained to the officer dispatched that her youngest son, Uriah Sharp, had delivered his papers to the wrong home and was picking them up. The cop "quickly determined" that's exactly what the Sharps were doing, according to police.

In a Facebook post, Uriah's mother, Brandie Sharp, said she was teaching her sons how to work. "First day of paper route and we are pulled over by the police," Sharp wrote. "Sad I cant even teach my son the value of working without someone whispering and looking at us out the side of their eye perhaps because we DON'T 'look like a person that belongs in their neighborhood.' " She said she would change their paper route to avoid the neighborhood.

Maybe the people who call the police for ridiculous reasons should pay a fine.

Before I post a thread I use the search box top right to see if it has already been posted.
Saves me time from posting something that has already been covered and talked to death.

Just a suggestion.

That said, you're free to post whatever you want (within forum guidelines, of course).

Have a blessed day.

Don't tell me what, how, and when to post.

Get it? Got it? Good.

If you don't like it you can always "trash thread" and put me on ignore.

White Couple Who Called Police on 12-Year-Old Mowing Lawn Called Them Again on the 4th of July Because They Felt ‘Threatened’

Angela Helm
Monday 10:45am

Some people just need their ass whupped to be fined for wasting precious taxpayer money on mundane foolishness. And one Ohio family, who seem to think the police are their personal black people removers, once again called cops on their African-American neighbor, less than two weeks after doing so because the 12-year-old mowed a part of their lawn.

As reported earlier by The Root, in late June, Randy and Linda Krakora, called the police on 12-year-old Reggie Fields, an ambitious young man who runs his own lawn mowing company. His transgression? Cutting a part of their lawn.

This time, on July 4—when all sorts of folks let their “truuuuue colors shine throooough” (see: this, this, this and this), the Krakora household called the police once again on Reggie and his friends, the children who live next door, for allegedly wetting their house while playing water games on the lawn (using a makeshift Slip ’N Slide, according to Mic.com.)

Mic reports that the Krakoras have called police over 60 times in the last 18 years. “We have always been told by the police that if we feel threatened, ‘Don’t confront these people, just call us,’” Linda Krakora said, according to Mic. “We’re a slightly older couple. We have a white couple in their eighties next to us. If we feel it’s going to be more of an issue to go over trying to talk to somebody, for our safety, we just call the police.”
