Arrest made in brutal beating of 92-year-old man

Authorities have arrested a woman alleged to be involved in the assault of a 92-year-old man on the Fourth of July.

Detectives arrested Laquisha Jones at 10 p.m. Tuesday, near 60th Street and Crenshaw Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Jones, 30, was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

Rodolfo Rodriguez had gone out for a walk in Willowbrook about 7 p.m. July 4 when he was assaulted, according to a GoFundMe campaign set up by his family. Rodriguez has a broken cheekbone and bruises on his face.

His family said that a woman confronted Rodriguez, after he reportedly bumped into a little girl who was with her. Rodriguez was then struck from behind and “as he fell on the ground, he blacked out,” according to Det. Matt Luna, with the LASD.

nothing like record low unemployment to make someone go after a 92 year old who probably stole someone's job somewhere.

One of many things I don't understand about this world is when black Americans have told me to go back to my country (USA). The civil rights leaders back in the day were strongly in favor of immigration and believed diversity helps all minorities.

During the beating, a young child was standing next to her and three or four male suspects eventually joined her in kicking and beating the elderly man, according to police.

Rodriguez is currently recovering at home with multiple head and body injuries, including a fractured jaw, broken ribs and head wounds. It has already surpassed its initial goal of $15,000 many times over, with donations continuing to pour in past the $300,000 mark."
