Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield warns Alabama’s booming automotive industry could be at risk.

“We’ve got 57,000 people employed in Alabama producing one million vehicles and we actually sell about, just under $11 billion,” said Canfield. “In 2017, we sold to 88 countries around the globe.”

In June, the Trump administration imposed tariffs on some imported steel and aluminum.

Canfield says that could raise prices.
