Sinclair has a history of forcing local stations to air politically biased segments produced at their corporate headquarters rather than news that reflects the concerns and interests of the communities. However, should this merger pass, they will.

NBC Charlotte (WCNC) generally the number #3 station in local news in a 5 broadcast (3, 9, 18, 36, & 46) and 1 cable news (Spectrum News) organization market. As a general rule, if you aren't WBTV 3 CBS or WSOC 9 ABC, you don't compete for the highest ratings due to heritage dial positions.
