as those skewering the GOP at the Strzok hearing, they'd have a 100 vote edge in the House and a veto-proof majority in the Senate!

(56,828 posts)Democrats have wanted hearings open to the public on all these Trump issues (not just Team Treason's conspiring with Russia), but the majority controls the agenda.

(650 posts)But the performance of the DEMOCRATS at the Strzok hearing IS GREAT.
That is what I have been calling for in the DU. It is not just about majority and control.
It is about addressing the heart and minds of the American people. we should talk policy at the same time we have the most corrupt presidency that works in the daylight against the basic interest of our great country. we should be attacking them day and night and not be quiet about it.
Remember what Lincoln said, "Sentiment is everything without it you have nothing".

(128,844 posts)If you did whenever they showed what few hearings the GOP are having, then you would see that they ARE like this all the time. So your "calling for" it "in the DU" is really moot. You can't really say it's not happening unless you personally see it.

If the Dem leadership continues to encourage and enable this outlaw administration then we will see more 'moderate Dems' run over by progressive movements. Hint to Dem leadership...ditch your payday lender BFFs and the rest of your corporate lobbyists. We need to hear you talking about universal health care and a living wage, not relaxing regulation of Wall Street. We're all in the middle of an experiment to see whether capitalism and democracy can coexist. As of now, I'd say democracy is losing.
*edit...and not about Dems confirming former Alfa Bank exec Benczkowski to the Justice Department.

(14,563 posts)this is the kind of spark and determination you need to match the lunacy of the right wing.
Even their passion, then win out on actually dealing in facts and reason.
