it's a very powerful phrase.
it is inserted regularly before false statements (lies) when stated by Trump, Fox News analysts, etc, to make the lie sink in.
to a person listening, when you hear "everybody knows" you think it must be true.
but for trump and fox, it is the opposite. it is a purposeful way to perpetuate a lie and give it strength.
it even gives you a feeling of being "left out" if you don't know it already, and a desire to be "in the know" like everyone else.
it is Orwellian.
it is time the people on the side of the truth to turn it around and use some of these tactics to perpetuate the truth instead of perpetuating lies.
Sometimes the details don't matter. Details are too much information for some folks in this country. simple statements that start with "everybody knows" are all it takes.
So.... repeat after me:
Everybody knows Fox News lies all the time.
Everybody knows Trump colluded with Russia and influenced our election.
Everybody knows Trump is a con man.
Everybody knows Trump is working for Russia's interests, not ours.
Everybody knows Trump's trade war is going to raise prices for consumers.
Everybody knows global warming is real.
Everybody knows Mueller is a Republican and a war hero doing what is right for this country.
Everybody knows Trump's pick for the supreme court was only to save his ass.
Everybody knows Trump lies more than any politician this country has ever known (hyperboles are good too).
insert this phrase in your discussions often. repeat.
logic and reason and details do not work with these people.
orwellian tactics do.
just be honorable and use it in factual statements, unlike the lying liars do. but it works either way.
Everybody knows the american people will not stand for this bullcrap.
