How will history judge the NFL palyers who kneel for the Anthem, and how will it judge us?

Well, to answer that question, let's look back in history. A history I lived. I was born in 1952, so that puts me as a 16 year old in 1968 and at 22 years old in 1974.

There is a parallel to today's events and today's athletes and politicians. Mohammad Ali, one of my youthful heroes, stood against an unjust war and refused induction. He said things like "I ain't got nothing against those Viet Cong. Not one of them ever called me a (N-Word)."

Ali was vilified by politicians, like then Vice-President Spiro Agnew. Ali was stripped of his title and prohibited from working in his chosen profession, boxing. Let me tell you, that a vast majority of Americans sided with Agnew then, especially white males without a college education. Everyone knows the story of how Ali won his case against the U'S. government in the Supreme Court, but he could never get his best years back.

But, here's the point of the story. Although, during those years, Ali was the villain and a vast majority of white America considered him unpatriotic, and sided with Spiro Agnew on the definition of Patriotism, that's not how history views the situation now.

If anyone alive at that time was asked, "who did you side with back in that time, Ali or Agnew", you'd be hard pressed now to find someone who would choose that no good crooked bastard who had to resign because of his corruption, as opposed to the hero who lit the Olympic Torch in Atlanta, with nary a dry eye in the stadium or watching on TV.

History has judged Mohammad Ali a patriotic Hero and Spiro Agnew a national disgrace.

50 years from now, there will be the same reckoning when today's athletes are judged against that no good piece of shit, Donald Trump.

I'm just sorry I won't be around to see it.

think about the list of athletes that were involved in these kinds of controversies. Besides Ali, you also have Tommie Smith and John Carlos of the '68 Olympics protest. And really think of how Jackie Robinson was treated. And beyond athletes, think of the Little Rock Nine, or Vivian Malone and James Hood being blocked by Wallace. Heck, they built a memorial right across the pond from the Jefferson Memorial to King. The people doing all the hating and blocking and objecting are now embarrassed about their behavior. Bull Connor is not remembered well.

In 50 years, all of these folks today that are ripping babies out of mothers arms, and yelling for people to "go back home" are gonna be thought of as dumb, and backwards. And Kaepernick may well find a display of himself in Canton.
