More members of the Trump Campaign are going to go to jail. Why? Because today's indictment says that 12 Russian Nationals *conspired* to hack DNC, Hillary Campaign and Election systems. The evidence cited in the document is damning. And we all know who ended up with the data. Based on leaks to the press, we know that members of the Trump campaign requested this information, knew it was being released and had in their possession this information. That right there is a violation of the law (holding and using stolen information).
From the indictment here: Around March 19, 2016, the indicted used a spear fishing attack to obtain access to private data from the Hillary Campaign and eventually the DCCC and DNC.
From the Timeline here, Trump Campaign learned of dirt on Clinton in April 2016.
From the indictment, on March 21, the indicted co-conspirators had obtained 50,000 emails.
Note that Trump on July 27th, 2016 was cited as asking Russia to help "find the 30,000 emails"...
From the indictment, beginning in June 2016, the co-conspirators released the stolen info onto the site DCLeaks which they set up. Stolen information continued to be leaked here throughout the campaign.
From the timeline, in June 2016, Trump Campaign Officials meet with Russians to Get Dirt On Clinton: Trump Jr, Kushner and Manafort were all present.
From the indictment, on June 22, 2016, Organization 1 (I'm going to say it's WikiLeaks), communicates with conspirators explaining they will have a much bigger impact in affecting the election if they leak the data to them. Transfer of information from conspirators to Organization 1 was completed mid July of 2016.
From the timeline, Aug 2016 the CEO of Trump Campaign Data Firm Cambridge Analytica told his employees in an email that he had recently reached out to Assange to offer help in sorting through and releasing Hillary Clintons missing email
From the indictment, between June and October of 2016, Conspirators posing as Gucifer 2.0 released information to select individuals:
- Aug 15, they gave stolen information about a U.S. Congressional candidate to their opponent
- Aug 22, gave 2.5 Gb worth of donor information stolen from the DCCC to a registered state lobbyist and political news source
- Aug 15, communicated with a U.S. person associated with the Trump campaign about the stolen information
From the timeline, In Sept. 2016, beginning over Labor Day weekend in 2016, an 80-year-old opposition researcher and GOP operative named Peter Smith assembled a team of technology experts, lawyers, and a Russian-speaking investigator to track down hacking groups with access to the 33,000 missing Clinton emails, according to The Wall Street Journal. One of those hacking groups was Russian, the Journal reported, and intended to use Smith as an intermediary to transfer the emails stolen from Clintons private server to top Trump campaign surrogate Michael Flynn.
Also in September 2016: Roger Stone Asks for Clinton Emails From Assange Stone tried to get damaging information about Clinton from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in September 2016, according to The Wall Street Journal. In an email to his friend Randy Credico, a radio host friendly with Assange, Stone wrote: Please ask Assange for any State or HRC e-mail from August 10 to August 30particularly on August 20, 2011. State was a reference to Clintons time as Secretary of State, when she used a private email server for work-related correspondences.

(23,018 posts)While not directly implicating them in *this* indictment, I think we all know what it means.

(6,709 posts)and we don't "know" what it means until judgments are returned. No one would be happier to see them all convicted but we aren't there yet.

(23,018 posts)that the plentiful evidence released in these indictments is sufficient 'proof'.
I agree in spirit that one is innocent until proven guilty. Of course, all indicted people deserve a fair trial.
That said, Mueller's accuracy is incredibly high.

The evidence in this indictment corresponds with what has been leaked. Trump is fucked.

(31,798 posts)Everyday I read here that Mueller's investigation doesn't leak. It has been a "leak proof" investigation. You mean that is wrong?
berni_mccoy
(23,018 posts)No. There have been leaks of emails from the Trump campaign plus forced admissions by members of the Trump campaign to meetings with russians.
