12 Russian indictments were announced 2 days before Trump meets with Putin.
There's little chance that the Russians, in Russia, will ever be brought into the US justice system so I assume the goal is to get the information out about how serious Russia's attempts to influence the US election were.
It seems to me the release of the indictments is intended to expose Putin's malicious intent towards the US and thereby moderate how much Trump kowtows to him.
Interesting to see if it has any effect.
I kind of doubt it. Trump has a habit on doubling down on bad decisions once they are revealed.
And of course the whole reason Trump is a Putin groupie must be that he's being blackmailed with something so destructive that he is willing to tear America apart and hand the pieces over to Putin in order to save himself.

(44,990 posts)any time you expose more is gonna be close to some important event. But given that Trump is meeting Putin, he needs to get extraditions or go home.

(4,388 posts)and suggesting that the timing is politically motivated is extremely counterproductive.
