They have gotten away with Treason (Nixon's and Reagan's approaches to our enemies, both of which turned the tide on their election numbers), war crimes (Bush and Cheney), and now, collusion with the enemy to undermine our democracy. And there are so many questions surrounding 9/11 we as a country would prefer left unanswered. When the truth may shatter our society, we don't pursue the truth. And the criminals never face justice.
