I like the cut of his jib. I know his choice to be the chairman of the DNC wasn't unanimous but he has been really effective in his job. We need to recruit candidates who reflect their congressional districts or states, be it Doug Jones in Alabama, Conor Lamb in PA 18, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in NY 14.
Chris asked him if he wants to abolish ICE. He essentially said he wants to abolish Trump. He went on to say it's not the agencies but the people who run them. He said he didn't help to abolish the Maricopa County Sheriff Department. He said he helped to replace Joe Arpaio.
Mend ICE not end it, and part of the mending is putting strong but humane people in charge of it.

(92,061 posts)fact would be a gift to republicans.
The problem is those who are the administration who is misusing it, and that is where the focus needs to be, along with reforms and safe guards to prevent those abuses from occurring again

(31,261 posts)democratic leaning voters, that is going to pay dividends in November and beyond. Perez knows how to fight the power and doesn't just mouth off about it.

(7,113 posts)He certainly deserves a fair share of credit for Dems' many wins in special elections, because we'd be blaming him for losses.
Plus, Perez has worked hard to reinstate Howard Dean's 50-State Strategy and refers to Dean often in interviews.
Perez is also quite good as an on-air spokesperson, almost as good as former DNC head Terry McCullough, only with more sincerity.
