I was raised in GA by a mother who taught me democratic values. I cannot decide when I became to understand that the word "Conservative" was a negative word. Seems like it used to mean not big on spending money. Now, to me it means racist, Trump supporter ( I realize those are the same) and completely negative.
I will so grateful when the TN primaries are over. There will be fewer GOP assholes with apparently unlimited funds to make sure we know they are "Conservative, pro-Trump, pro-wall, pro-gun".

(4,443 posts)I'm in Oak Ridge and the commercials are beyond noxious. Seeing Randy Boyd and Diane Black competing to see which one is further up Trump's backside is disgusting.

(6,911 posts)and it is relentless. Our mute button on the TV is essential. I want to get in Diane's face and tell her how horrified I am that she was ever a nurse. My husband (who was also an RN) rants at the TV, about the money she has and it was not made being a nurse.
Are you from GA??? I grew up in Norcross, went to Maryville College and stayed.

(54,770 posts)each other vying for ignorant white wing vote for governor with same kind of junk. GOPers running for other slots are doing same. Christ, they openly express their love for trump like its a virtue.
Once runoffs are over in two weeks, the gubernatorial race will pit a Black lady Democratic candidate with some good experience in legislature against the racist, trump loving GOPer who has been Lt. Governor. I fully expect the racist crud to get really ugly from the GOPer candidate and white wing base.
Bring it on Deplorables.

(54,770 posts)shell inspire some people that havent voted in recent years because the results were pretty well known before election. Shell go strong on healthcare and education, among other Democratic issues, but has shown she can work with Republicans in past.

(54,255 posts)They're trying to 'out hate Obama' each other.
One state AG candidate against the other in a repug runoff: "He had an OBAMA BUMPER STICKER ON HIS CAR!"
All repug statewide candidates are each trying to out love Jesus, out love the NRA, out love Trump, out hate gay marriage, and out hate Obama.
Fun, fun, fun...

(1,073 posts)You're not old, just getting sharper. I was raised in/around the military. I lived in Blackwells district for several years in my later years. After the military and civil service, I found it repulsive, the hardheaded attitudes of folks in the area.
I've followed Blackwells BS since we've moved out of TN and her actions leave me speechless, even wordless . . . . .

(6,911 posts)For some damn reason MSNBC gave her lots of airtime for awhile. So she is painfully familiar.
Her opponent is Phil Bredesen in the general election. He was a very good governor and we are not seeing her ads here in the east. Now that awful Diane Black running for governor is relentless and spending huge money. She has three opponents in the primary.
