Better bullshit, more racism, Papa John's.
I remember they use to be good...like 20 years ago.

(36,827 posts)The flour used isnt the same as higher quality pizza. The dough is underproofed and not cooked in a proper oven because its more expensive. The sauce is undercooked and poorly seasoned. The rest of the ingredients are no different than their competitors and certainly nothing special.
The sad part is its not that much more expensive to produce a far better product. But the major chains are competing pretty much entirely on price. So they save small amounts by cutting corners and the masses still flock to them.

(36,827 posts)Its just sad that for a small increase in price they could produce a much better product, and many smaller operators do just that, but they cant compete in larger markets where pennies add up to huge windfalls and the incentives to cut those corners are greater.

(10,156 posts)While I'd love to order from local places, they are very expensive. My dad took me to a local place for my birthday and it ended up costing over $100.

(36,827 posts)Some use wood fired brick ovens, flours imported from Italy, along with high end mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and other expensive ingredients. Theres lots of middle ground. I went to a local place today that was only marginally more expensive than Pizza-hut, but the quality was far better.

(10,156 posts)But my dad can afford it. Makes a lot more than I do. But I would rather save and get good quality pizza. Might start doing that. Would want to help local business anyway

Their website is well made, too and the gallery of the art in the stores is nice.
