Hey you moron, they attacked the United States. Just because it was before you were president doesn't make it ok. Oh yeah, that is unless you were in on it too. Stupid excuse from a stupid person that will be believed by his incredibly stupid followers. But this is just breathtaking in it's stupidity-or tacit acknowledgement of guilt.
HELSINKI President Trump said in a new interview airing Sunday that he hadnt thought of pressing Russian President Vladimir Putin on extraditing the dozen Russian officials charged with hacking Democratic emails, while continuing to blame Democrats for the stolen emails that upended the 2016 presidential campaign.
Well, I might, Trump said when asked during an interview with CBS News about extraditing the indicted intelligence agents. I hadnt thought of that. But I certainly, Ill be asking about it. But again, this was during the Obama administration. They were doing whatever it was during the Obama administration.
The United States does not have an extradition treaty with Russia. Trump also asserted that the GOP was similarly not hacked during the 2016 campaign because the Republican National Committee were equipped with better cybersecurity.
We had much better defenses. Ive been told that by a number of people. We had much better defenses, so they couldnt, Trump said during the CBS interview. I think the DNC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing themselves to be hacked. They had bad defenses and they were able to be hacked.

Sick. Twisted. Immoral. Evil.

(1,896 posts)American elections were attacked by a foreign power. It's ok because Obama was president. It's the democrats fault for not having good cybersecurity (like the great security the Republicans had). I can't do anything about it. These are not the responses of someone concerned with defending the nation. They are the responses of someone who was in on the caper.

Having this totally inept brainless moron as head of anything is as insulting to anyone with an ounce of brain matter as it is to oh, I dunno...permit year old, kidnapped babies representing themselves before judges in an official court of law.
We are living in the most fucking insane alternate universe of abject STUPIDITY that could be scrawled in feces by a complete degenerate fool on a wall in a filthy subway toilet above a stinking urinal.
Its....
Done.
No.

(37,648 posts)For our spies that were caught by Russia? Of course not. Even if it weren't for spying, the two countries don't have an extradition treaty.

(1,896 posts)The point is how do you respond to an attack on our country. Blame the guy before you. Use it as a means of making yourself look good? Blame the victims because they were from a different political party? Or do you forcefully make it clear that it was an unacceptable action tantamount to any of the illegal violations recognized in international law that are considered acts of war? The president's job is to defend the nation, not gloss over interference in our democracy because it was to your benefit or to do nothing since Putin is unlikely to acknowledge this or agree to extradition.

(37,648 posts)There is no extradition treaty between the countries. He can ask for extradition, but it would be meaningless since there is no chance in hell that Russia would do it. Just like the U S wouldn't do it. Those guys work FOR their country, just like our spies work for us and are doing work FOR the U.S. We wouldn't extradite them for doing their jobs.
Putin IS the criminal. Trump might as well ask for Putin to be extradited. Same thing.
Regardless, no one will know what they say to each other. Trump may say after the meeting that he said a number of things that he didn't actually say. He misrepresents meetings all the time. Just like he did, right in FRONT of Macron, causing Macron to clarify and say "NO" that that was NOT what happened in the mtg.

(7,142 posts)but your saying that such a request would be meaningless is far far from the truth. Democrats lose out because they don't control the M$M. The biggest lie that is out there is that the media is liberal. Demanding that Putin extradite those Russians changes the narrative. Demanding that Putin extradite those Russians prevents mealy-mouthed Republicans like Rand Paul from being able to call the Mueller investigation a witch hunt.
Democrats, Republicans, all of Congress and our diplomats, and all Americans, yourself included respectfully, should be screaming to the roof tops for extradition, knowing full well that it will never happen.

(37,648 posts)It's like demanding that cumulus clouds don't spill rain. It shows a misunderstanding of extradition.
It's the same as "demanding" that Putin send himself to the U S for prosecution, since those guys work for him and doing what he tasked them to do.
There are better things to shout from the rooftops than something this meaningless. It also would backfire. Dems insist that Trump do something meaningless, so he doesn't do it. Ergo, Trump does the logical thing, which is not to waste his time w/Putin doing something meaningless. Trump looks good. Which is not the goal.
Dems need to demand that Trump do something meaningful...like pass stricter sanctions. That CAN be done, and Trump WON'T do that. The only reason sanctions were passed against Putin was because Congress did it, after Trump wouldn't.

(37,648 posts)We don't have an extradition treaty with Russia. So there's no legal basis for it. Does he have discretion to do something that the country explicitly decided not to do? Good question.

(37,648 posts)You allow something to occur, so that it appears that things are not like they really are. For instance, no criticism in Russia is allowed of Putin. Except that occasionally he allows some minor criticism, so that later when that source reports Putin's lies, it appears more credible. (see my post on "why Trump lies," about a Russian's explanations of them.)
