Today my mother the Trumper posted a really nice picture of Melania and that's fine. She's not an ugly woman (at least not on the outside). And everyone was commenting about how lovely she is and someone just had to say something untrue.
She said: "I've never seen such vicious HATEFULNESS against a FLOTUS"
I had to comment "Really? What about all those memes floating around the internet with Michelle Obama as an ape? And what about when Obama wore a tan suit?"
She answered that I was right, Eleanor Roosevelt was made fun of because of her teeth and Barbara Bush was made fun of because of her pearls and because she looked old but that now I should "cease and desist"...
In other words STFU.
So I posted "Well, that was really rude"
Then my mother went in and deleted all the comments!
Then I posted "Interesting, someone says something rude to me and I'm not able to respond?" and that's where it stands.

(38,958 posts)Zero or less. I really wouldnt bother responding to posts with which you disagree on Facebook. Its like wrestling a pig, you just get muddy and the pig enjoys it.

(3,764 posts)It was the one with Melania in the yellow dress. She looked lovely. I was objecting to the victimhood of the comment saying no other first lady has ever had such vicious hatred shown to her. Really?
Not only that she admitted I was right, but still told me to shut up ("cease and desist" and it wasn't her post to order people around and say who could and couldn't reply to my mother's post.

(38,958 posts)making any arguments on FB is pointless. I delete things and hide posts regularly, but very, very, very rarely bother to disagree with anyone as it is an exercise in futility and frustration.

One time I was at my Grandma's house I found a smoking stone with a roach in it. I think it might have been my brother's.
