What Mueller Knows and What Hell Pursue NextGarrett Graff: Examining the public bread crumbs of Muellers investigation, though, gives some indication about whats left that we dont knowthe active and ongoing investigative work that Muellers team is pursuing that hasnt seen the light of day. In broad buckets, there are at least eight significant areas of the investigation yet to be penciled in by Mueller.
...............
The sheer volume of what Robert Mueller knows is staggering. Perusing his various court filings since last September makes clear he knew the individual changes Paul Manafort made in a specific Microsoft Word document; he knew that Dutch lawyer Alex van der Zwaan was lying about what he did on behalf of Manafort and Gates; he knew the specific times Russia military intelligence officers were searching specific words way back in 2016; he knew the specific cryptocurrency transactions used to register the Russian intelligence agency accounts; he knows what the hired trolls at the Internet Research Agency were writing in emails to their family members in 2017; he knew the messages Manafort was sending on encrypted messaging services.
SPOILER ALERT: NEARLY all of these open avenues involve not only Americans, but sometimes even senior campaign, transition, and White House aides to Donald Trump.

(16,423 posts)About 2 months ago he asked the Justice Department for 75 sets of blank forms for filing indictments.
Robert Mueller wants to write 75 indictments...

You're confusing subpoenas with indictments. Mueller has a few time asked for blank subpoenas from the court. This is the customary practice for subpoenas to be issued, they're basically a form letter to demand testimony and/or records, they are not an accusation of an offense. An indictment is a specific accusation of specified offenses, they are not fill-in-the-blank documents.

(4,341 posts)"When the history books are written, Rod Rosenstein might just be the most interesting figure of the Russia investigationthe beleaguered deputy attorney general whose memo in his first days on the job was used to justify the firing of James Comey."
"Rod Rosenstein wrote the letter used to fire Comey"...."After that he quickly appointed Robert Mueller as the special counsel..."
My feeling is that Comey knew he was going to hurt Hillary's campaign, and he was willingly going to conspire with the man-child's campaign to throw the public into the man-child's side. He then has tried to portray himself as a righteous and honest guy, wrote a book sort of condemning the man-child, blah, blah, blah...I don't think he is either honest of sincere.
QUESTION: Did Rosenstein know, and understood, that Comey had to go because with Comey the investigation would not be fair, that Comey would be willing, despite Comey's comments and actions after he was fired, make a mockery of the investigation and help the man-child survive it? Why do I think Rosenstein risked the criticism he knew he would get from writing the letter, but understand at the same time that in order to get to the truth it was a worthy risk?
Has anyone heard of Comey? He has been very quiet.

(4,305 posts)I don't recall ever seeing this idea suggested before,
it does IMHO have merit.
We're certainly not privy to the first hand knowledge of Comey's conduct that Rosenstein had.

(17,884 posts)You may be on to something concerning Comey. Sure, he's done interviews, written a book, he's really a stand up guy, yada, yada, yada. He's even snowed some on the left with his rhetoric. But one thing I have yet to get out of my craw is why the hell he did what he did weeks before the election. It was either blatantly political or patently stupid, and I don't think Comey is a stupid guy. No matter how much he tries to snow us, that simple fact won't go away.
