I have MSNBC on now, and both well versed women ask the right questions regarding the Trump-Putin meeting without the aides necessary to witness this, as well as advise to protect America's interests around the world.
Make no mistake about this, Trump is being out played by a master spy, a man Trump wants to emulate and praise. This cannot bode well for America and her àllies.
What say you?

(52,205 posts)i can't imagine any of his aides thinking it's perfectly ok for donnie to be in a room alone with putin, with only foreign translators.
if only from a personal security perspective, this is nuts.
not that they'll ever say that in public, of course....

(19,059 posts)It will be a token that Trump and his media can play up as being huge, it will turn out to be nothing, but he just wants to claim victory.
This is a trap for Liberals, don't take the bait.

(16,784 posts)Trump will not even broach that. He will protect those indicted by Mueller. Why mess up a good thing that put him in the White House?
He will surely show he is on the side of Russia and not the security of our democratic processes we have held dear since the 18th century.
Trump serves Putin and continues to prove Hillary Clinton correct....Trump is indeed Putin's Puppet.

(19,059 posts)They'll announce some deal on Syria or on nukes. It will sound substantial at first glance, but there will be nothing to it and it will never get implemented. They just want to win the headline battle for today.
And Trump is going to try to kill the Mueller investigation by saying Russia US relations are more important.

(59,503 posts)Clear how it benefits the US. The idea that the US ends sanctions on Russia AND they in response push Iran away from the Israel border helps Russia in two ways -the removal of sanctions and leaving them even stronger in Syria. For Israel, it lessens the Iranian threat.
For the US, we are weaker in the Middle east and we will have allowed Russia to get away with what they did on our elections and in Ukraine. All in all, it shows the US as weaker than we ever have been.

(16,784 posts)Putin wants the sanctions lifted. Trump lets that happen, it will show he cares little for America's security for future elections.
Is staying in power worth it?

(59,503 posts)He said Obama did not respond to Crimea. In fact, the sanctions were the response and they were painful. They also a lot of good diplomacy with NATO to achieve - as Kerry noted in his response to Trump bashing Germany.

Putin has something on the Donald. It has to come out as to what that is.
