'I'm gonna get you, n***er!' White man melts down at family over their anti-Trump yard sign

Brad Reed 16 JUL 2018 AT 10:40 ET

A white man this weekend was caught on camera angrily attacking a family in North Carolina because they had a “F*ck Trump” sign on their lawn.

In a video posted by the “Charlotte Uprising” Twitter account, the man is seeing approaching the family’s house and claiming that he was merely upset about the sign because he didn’t want children to see the word “f*ck” when they passed the house. The man also claimed that he was a Bernie Sanders supporter, although he quickly started slinging racist rhetoric that Sanders has regularly denounced.

If this man was truly a Bernie voter, he would have politely asked the owners to replace this sign with another sign less "obscene" and politely explain why. I call B.S. on who he claimed that he voted for.

Why would he lie about that as he is venting his racist spleen at the dem home owner?

It doesn't mean Bernie is a racist but some of his white followers may have been.

I never bought the economic anxiety theory myself and always thought there was a strong racial/sexist component in opposition to Hillary.

In my mind I was thinking that Bernie voters (and Hillary voters) would be reasonable people and accept diversity.

One can't accomplish anything by acting like a complete buffoon so this guy in the video acts exactly like a Trump supporter.
It was frightening to watch.

I never bought the economic anxiety theory either. While the 2016 campaign was happening, I was reading what our economist were saying about the possibility of a Trump presidency. I brought this up to a Trump supporter (Uncle) giving them names of the economist, facts and links. When I was "typed attacked", I knew that trying to give them facts was pointless...and they wonder why I don't go to the family reunions.

So there’s probably not a lot of racial animus coming from the far left. Certainly not on behalf of the Jewish guy.

Some of Sanders’ followers were probably racist. That’s statistically true, because many of Clinton’s 2008 followers turned out to be racist.

I missed what state this was in. Was it one of the state’s where Republicans can vote in Democratic primaries, like California? If not, this is a registered Democrat that’s the racist asshole and we ALL have a problem. If so, then maybe he did “vote for Bernie Sanders.” If it was a write-in, he’s clearly in the same league as those voting Mickey Mouse, “Jedi,” or Lyndon Larouche.

More likely, in my experience, is that the “I like Bernie Sanders” defense is what Trumpers love to use it when they do Trump-ian shit like this. (I don’t blame them because it’s not their fault; it’s how the Russians trained them.

That guy also didn't really represent what Sanders is about. Sometimes assholes latch on to otherwise good people.

...these constant attacks, many if not most of them perpetrated by MAGAts, nearly bring me to tears. The collectivity of the phenomenon puts lots of people in fear.

We need not just document and expose, we need a massive protest against racial attacks. It seems like we're reading about one or more of these every day. We need to put it together and protest the climate that emboldens these terrorists.

And if you think the word "terrorist" is too strong, the impact is to force people to live in fear. And the cumulative effect is to put a lot of people in fear. Collectively, it's terrorism.
