I just got off the phone with my congressman's office in DC.

I said, "I just have a question. In light of the President committing treason today, when will Representative Posey be introducing articles of impeachment?"

The staffer told me he hadn't seen the congressman today yet. I replied "when you do, will you please tell him he has constituents scared out of their ever-loving minds. Congress needs to get control over this mad man, and the GOP needs to show some patriotism and demonstrate they are capable of putting country over party. Get it together already."

Okay, I probably could have phrased that last sentence a little better. But my tone was not snippy and we ended the call by wishing each other a nice day.

The most disappointing part of the entire exchange was how quickly he picked up the phone. That may be one of the first times I have ever gotten straight through in DC rather than having to call one of his local offices. The House and Senate switchboards should be going crazy!

"In light of the President committing treason today in full view of the entire World, I’d like to know if Senator Rubio is going to demonstrate that Republicans are capable of putting country above party and do something to stop this mad man. I’m scared out of my ever-loving mind and need some reassurance that Congress is going to step up and perform their constitutional duty to serve as a check on executive power. Especially the type of unhinged behavior we’re seeing from Trump. What is Rubio going to do to mitigate the damage being done to our representative democracy?"

He replied by reading me Rubio's statement from today (which I do agree with).

I answered, "I appreciate the sentiment and agree with the Senator. Now what is he going to do about it?" The staffer made a non-committal reply and promised to pass along my message.

he support impeachment, but also called my two useless Orange Moron supporting Senators' offices. I asked each if the MOC had issued a statement. Only Womack's office said they were working on a press release. Reminded Cotton's aide that he took an oath to defend this country against all enemies, domestic and foreign. Told them that any Republican who still supported DJT was a traitor as well.
