6. McCain doesn't really have anything to lose. Why?

Why can't he say and do what needs to be done?

He can go out a hero.

The rest of them don't have the guts, but he could. What is he afraid of?

9. If McCain dies or resigns before November, the Repub governor will immediately appoint a successor

That successor would serve until 2022 if elected in a special election. Meanwhile Flake's seat is open as well. In all likelihood, a deal will be struck between McSally and Ward (the leading repub candidates for the repub nomination to succeed Flake) under which one gets the McCain seat and the other runs for the Flake seat. In any event, neither of them will stand up to Trump.

13. Nope. Not if he changed party

Arizona law anticipates the situation you describe and expressly provides that if a Senator changes party after being elected the governor must fill a vacancy created by the death or resignation of that senator with a member of the party to which that senator belonged when elected.

These guys aren't going to become Democrats. For one thing, it wouldn't do much of anything to change Trump's behavior vis-a-vis Russia. It would allow Schumer to become majority leader and he could probably block consideration of Kavanaugh, but I doubt that is something either McCain or Flake want to facilitate.

11. If they're truly concerned, they must stop with the piecemeal approach to trump!

It's the ONLY way. You can't give him any more wins, whether it's the Supreme Court, or whatever. Stop every and anything from trump's agenda NOW!

Nice to know the GOP now has its own concern trolls at the highest levels.

Tell us when you come up with an actual plan, fellas.
