(5,042 posts)But if Trump is a traitor, Republicans are not going to show up for anyone who excuses him. And Drunky Blackburn will.

(14,167 posts)Ward Baker, speaking before a room of Republican activists in Nashville, also had a warning for Republicans who cross over and back Bredesen, a former two-term Tennessee governor:
We have a list of everybody thats screwing us, Baker said, drawing laughter from the crowd over what seemed to be a joke as he began answering a question.
"I believe when the TV ads are out, and we lay out our case, I think some of them will come back. And the ones that dont, Ill do everything in my power to make sure that they have trouble living in the future."
That comment too was met by laughs and applause.

They are intimidating Republicans who want to support Bredesen. Let's see what happens. Also, Bredesen could use some fundraising love. I believe Blackburn may have outperformed him in the last quarter. He did loan himself $2 million, though, so that should help with the ads.

(10,825 posts)he appeals to Dems and Republicans alike. He was a popular 2-term Governor and successful mayor in Nashville. He has a lot of friends and support from both sides of the aisle, as well as considerable experience and political savvy.
He's going to win this seat, +1 for the Senate. My husband and I voted on the first day of early voting (Friday) and the traffic was steady. It will be interesting to check the traffic flow at the end of the week.
I have a very good feeling about this one. And the Dems down here are . . . charged up.
