I ducked and hid under my wooden desk at school to "protect" myself from an atomic bomb attack. I remember fallout shelters, Sputnik and Khrushchev banging his shoe at the U.N. and also thundering, "We will bury you!"

Everything about the Trump campaign, election and his presidency so far has been unprecedented and utterly abnormal in my lifetime. And all aided and abetted by the complicit Republican Congress. We are flying at warp speed towards fascism and the corrosive destruction of our Republic. I have said many times here that the Russians, long before today's sh#tshow in Helsinki, have finally won the Cold War --- and all without firing a single bullet or dropping a single bomb. Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev and all the rest are laughing at us from that great dacha in the sky.

4. Born in '53 here. Grew up halfway between Ft. Knox and Ft. Campbell. Been under a desk before.

We would have been dust where I grew up. We all watched the TV as the Cuban missile crisis unfolded. We were doing those bomb drills every day. during that episode. Russians must have so much dirt on so many Republicans that it is scary.
