28. I always wondered how after WWII

how McCarthyism happened in the 50's and why everyone was so crazy about communists. I now get it, you lead a cult of people with propaganda and false information and fear lots of fear.

At first I just thought if we won again things could go back to some sort of normal, but I think Trump opened a Pandoras box and out came all the crazies, and people following out of fear.

I think back to when I was only 18 for a very short time I went to a crazy last days jesus freak church that had me so fearful I did some stupid stuff like missing my friends wedding because we were preparing for the end, really nuts. Luckily my dad came where we were staying I found out later with a shot gun and threatened the leader and I left with him.

Took me weeks of deprogramming, which was mostly a bunch of people over time telling me the truth.

I believe I was open to this because I had a very drama filled child hood with a mom with mental issues and was left on my own and very insecure. Took me a long time to become a strong person.

To me that is the type of person the republicans can use who will follow them no matter what they do because they are not strong enough to stand up to the truth.
