https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/972458625355669504.html1. This is about Maria Butina, the woman who then met with TRUMP JR. at the NRA event MSM reported about a while ago, together with Alexander Torshin. Yeah, they met with Trump himself, too. And he specifically talked about lifting sanctions. AND THIS IS ON VIDEO.
2. Missed out entirely on this yesterday as I was away most of the time, and thank you @lulu_lemew for tweeting it now. The conversation between Trump and Butina happened at a convention in Las Vegas in July 2015.
3. Butina specifically asked Trump what he would do about "damaging" US sanctions. And Trump promptly suggested he would get rid of them. YOU DON'T SAY? Not that we didn't know, but this is on video.
4. Butina on mic: "I am visiting from Russia"
Trump (interjecting, audience laughs): "Ahhhhh, Putin! Good friend of Obama, Putin. He likes Obama a lot. Go ahead.
And here's where the absolutely STUNNING part happens.
SNIP
8. This was WEEKS after Trump launched his campaign. Trump acted like he didn't know Butina, but he DID know her boss Torshin and had for a while. Torshin told Bloomberg that in APRIL 2015 (so prior to this) he met with Trump in Nashville and they had a "jovial exchange".
9. Now, whether Trump knew Torshin well or not is not even the point. The point here is he answered someone who said publicly she was Russian about sanctions and CLEARLY said he'd get rid of them, in July 2015.
10. So, this is what's called INDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE of Trump's intent to get rid of sanctions on Russia, without ANY evidence that it is in ANY way wise to do so, and just out of "Oh I KNOW Putin and get on very well with him:" Btw Trump here PUBLICLY CLAIMS HE KNOWS PUTIN.
