Willing collaborators with a foreign adversary.
The slogan of the French right in the 1930s was "Better Hitler than Blum"--Blum being the leader of the French Socialists (who also happened to be Jewish).
The slogan of today's Republicans seems to be "Better Putin than Hillary." And they actually mean it.

and was seriously scared that we would be invaded by russians and communists, the Day After and Sting's Russians did not help much either. The propaganda against Russia was thick back then.
