I guess what surprises me is why did Fox act outraged? Why didn't Fox just offer the usual pro-Trump/GOP spin? After all, if one watched Fox, as Trump does, wouldn't most folks come away with the idea that Russia got a raw deal? This must be confusing some of the Fox bots at home.

All par for the course from CNN. The big surprise was going on over at Fox News, where the consternation and outrage were only slightly more restrained.
The day started with Fox and Friends Brian Kilmeade taking issue with Trumps pre-meeting tweet, which read: Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!
Thats by far the most ridiculous tweet of late, Kilmeade said in response. That is insulting to past administrationshe cant be saying that going into the Russian summit.
Then, after the press conference in Helsinki, the Fox gloves really started to come off on Twitter.

(13,776 posts)I had assumed they were also in league with Russia. Maybe Hannity actually is, with the Cohen connection, and Tucker is just an irredeemable suckup, but it will be interesting to see what their spin is tomorrow.

(10,721 posts)...I also think they see the writing on the wall and are trying to make sure there's still a viable Republican Party after Trump (plus, they can point to this as proof that Fox really is 'fair and balanced').
