I really cannot expect that the summit will effect voters who support Trump. Wonder what the next rally will be like. I and bet the polls will show that Republicans still will largely support Trump even if he does more to support Russia like lift the sanctions and helps Putin further.
Hell Republicans hate Hillary so much they would even support ISIS is it were a political advantage. We now know who GOP voters are.

(25,111 posts)I don't know the % of Republicans that are registered in the USA, but what I understand is that the party is losing it's members. And when polled, they poll only GOPs, not Indies nor Dems. So it's a small % of the truly insane which are the loudest and which the media focus on.
Majority of Americans are pro-USA

(10,252 posts)follow and like Trump. We can't change them. We can only change ourselves. We need to be very courageous, committed, and focused on electing Dems in Nov. That is our #1 job. If we take the House in Nov, we will own and chair every House committee. The Russians will probably mess with our election again. So be sceptical about what you read on line, and what you copy and post on social media. We are not powerless.

(13,305 posts)..start trying to motivate our base with something other than scare tactics about the other side (as accurate and as true as they may be they don't always work as we've seen).
Go back to the Obama 2008 playbook and run with an appeal to core liberal values and policies: expansion of social programs, holding the wealthy and corporations accountable, heavy on the civil liberties and equality, ending wars and military intervention.
And speak about and sell those policies at every possible juncture and at every possible moment. None of this "It's in the platform!! It's on the website!!!!" bullshit. None of this laying low, keeping quiet, and waiting for your Republican opponent to do or say something so stupid it costs them the election.
And then when and if we win on that like we did in 2008......actually move on it in every possible way. Don't wait for "Republicans of good conscience" (HA!) to come around. Don't cater to the conservative dems and let them write the laws. Actually fight for it and don't fucking worry about whether David Brooks or Morning Joe approve.

(13,305 posts)We need candidates to get out there and give speeches and pound the pavement and go door to door. We need them on any and every tv show they can get on.
I'm fucking sick and tired of tweets. Hit the bricks. We need all hands on deck and not just people assuming everyone else is going to do the work for them.

(6,496 posts)They don't seem to understand the consequences of actions taken by the president. They are horrible at predicting future outcomes. Most likely they had a poor education in history. Nothing affects them until it really is affecting them, as in they are struggling. Even then, they might not connect the dots and figure out the reason why they are struggling. They'd probably just think they have bad luck or maybe God is punishing them. Lol! They go about their business blissfully ignorant of what is really going on with the world. They think about politics about as much as the groundhogs in my yard do. Those little buggers are pretty happy until something tries to kill them.
