First Trump says he does trusts US intel, which has concluded that Russia interfered in our elections and in the next breath says it "could be other people also", as though there is some great mystery about who did it that no one can determine. Perhaps it was that 400 pound fat guy in New Jersey.
So he "trusts" US intel but is going to ignore their conclusions and continue to accept Putin's denials. How is this any different than yesterday?

(505 posts)This tells me he's a Russian asset. His staff tells him exactly what to say in order to do some kind of damage control. And yet he changes the prepared remarks to make sure he doesn't REALLY blame Russia.
He might as well just say "You know what I said yesterday, and I stand by my words, but these guys tell me I should pretend like I don't".

He left out "but", but it is implied.

(6,881 posts)He still believes instinctively that US intelligence (the "deep state" is out to get him. And maybe they are. But not because they have some "Trump hatred syndrome" but because they know he deserves it. He always complains how biased they are. That everyone hates him. But he never asks himself why. When he says he has "the utmost confidence in our intelligence service" he's just covering up how much he's afraid of them.
