Every corporate decision is driven by money. Would it be more profitable for Fox News to back Trump's impeachment or continue airing his tired one man stage shows and letting him say crazy shit that makes him -- and the GOP by association -- look stupid and weaker every day?
Lots of pitchfork wielding rightwing viewers would watch Trump's demise if the Dems take the House majority and actually bring impeachment charges against him. But what if Fox personalities were giving Republican politicians cover by screaming about how Trump, the former Democrat, was a coward and really wasn't one of them... his base would turn on him a heartbeat.
Fox dumped Sarah Palin when her brand of nutz went sour, and Trump has certainly exceeded his sell-by date. Would Fox News attract more viewers (hence more revenue) by encouraging Trump's downfall? GOP voters will desert Trump if he appears weak. The nonstop coverage of impeachment proceedings will hasten the inevitable Trump perp walk, followed by daily episodes of a probable criminal trial as well, that would bring in big bucks for every news media.
Follow the money.
