Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell came out today with as strong a statement as a turtle with an agenda can make. Note particularly the end of his remarks, where he says with a great deal of conviction that he knows exactly what Russia did in 2016 and they will not allow it to happen again.
Well yes, apparently that's a vow he can make in 2018 when Trump isn't on the ballot. But when Trump was on the ballot, it was a different story altogether.
Turn the clock back, back, back with me to December, 2016 when reports of Russian attacks on the 2016 election were oozing out. In particular, let us recall together what active measures Senator Mitch McConnell took to make sure we, the people, had no clue about what they were doing.
So they admit they played politics in 2016 and now all is forgiven! When are the Rethugs going to be held accountable for hijacking our government for their own political agenda!

(86,378 posts)at the very least and now that the fix is in for November, he has no compunction to withhold his comlicity because he knows that the next election is already in the bag for the traitors.

"Trumps Russia scandal is a Republican Party scandal. As we have been writing for years, at PoliticusUSA, Mitch McConnell is the reason why the Russians were not stopped in a bipartisan way during the 2016 election. McConnell refused to work with Obama on a bipartisan statement and resolution on the Russian election attack.
Obama didnt issue a unilateral, because a unilateral statement would have immediately been used as a partisan weapon by Republicans and the Russians. The indictment yesterday of a Russian agent who was working with the NRA demonstrates that the Republican Party has been taken over by Putin. The Russians had been working for years to infiltrate the Republican Party.
Steve Schmidt was spot on. Mitch McConnell and the Republicans in Congress are a huge part of the problem. Mitch McConnell is compromised, as is the rest of the Republican leadership who are protecting Trump, and as a matter of national security, they all must be removed from power."
