“Baffled by his solicitous tone toward Mr. Putin, some people close to Mr. Trump have concluded that he feels vulnerable to Mr. Putin, even if it is in his own mind, rather than because of any damaging information possessed by the Russians.”

It's not quite a violation of the T.O.S. ( "don't spread right wing talking points" ), but it's getting uncomfortably close. She's crafting a reality that is part Trump apologist, part clueless conspiracy theorist.

Oh, and one more thing...everyone else is fearlessly calling Trump a LIAR, while she steadfastly refuses to use the word, which results in half of the comments on her tweets calling her out for that, and her replying with some form of snarky defense.

She's reporting what "some people close to Trump have concluded" - and I've no doubt that IS what they're telling themselves.

Reporting what "other people have concluded" doesn't mean she's adopted that conclusion herself, nor that she agrees with it or finds it a credible position.

The "spin" is what she's commenting on - she's not doing the spinning herself.

She is quoting the feelings of those close to Trump. The article in no way elevates *45.

Her access is more important than the reality that trump is damaging to the country. What exactly are we supposed to do with this insider information? Understand him? Trump appeased putin, trashed American Intelligence and, damaged relations with allies. Those are the only things we should care about.

What is the "thing" Haberman has done here?

How does reporting on what is being discussed among Trump supporters a call to "understand him"?

G'head - I'll wait.

... "this isn't the only thing Haberman has done" in response to an OP about a tweet today, which the OP then characterized as "Haberman's spin" on Trump/Putin.

How is Haberman "spinning" anything by simply conveying what Trump insiders are telling themselves? Anything she said or did in the past is NOT the topic of the OP.

By saying "THIS isn't the only thing Haberman has done", you are apparently buying into the OP's characterization that what Haberman said today is some pro-Trump spin - which is very obviously isn't.

That's your interpretation of my post but that's not what I intended. Anyway, I'm not going to continue a back and forth for maggie "but her emails" haberman.
