https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/18/opinions/tucker-carson-mexico-lame-deflect-trump-russia-outrage-reyes/index.htmlWhen in doubt, blame brown people. That's what one leading voice on the right is doing in response to the fallout over President Donald Trump's disastrous summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.
In an interview with "The Five," Fox News host Tucker Carlson said that Russia had sought to meddle in US affairs. But he asserted that other countries, such as Mexico, have been more successful in doing so. "I don't think Russia is our close friend or anything like that. I think of course they try to interfere in our affairs. They have for a long time. Many countries do. Some more successfully than Russia, like Mexico, which is routinely interfering in our elections by packing our electorate."
Nice try. This is Carlson's attempt to deflect attention from the national outrage over Trump casting doubt on the US intelligence community's determination that Russia meddled in our 2016 election.
That this brand of racism is still alive and well speaks volumes about the state of conservative thought in the age of Trump. American citizens of Hispanic descent who are voting are participating in democracy. And for the record, there is no evidence to support Carlson's claims.

(51,974 posts)it's so pathetic that liars and propagandists like this get airtime.

it would be idiocy if we didn't know that he knows full well he just makes up this crap.
such a liar and propagandist.

(51,974 posts)whitewater -- the clintons are so bad at being crooks they lost money on a crooked deal.
vince foster -- the clintons are so bad at murder they kill their friends instead of their enemies.
benghazi -- hillary diabolically waited a few hours before labeling it a terror attack, because, um, something.
emails -- hillary personally profited, um, somehow, from making a few retroactively classified emails possibly available to russian hackers.
colluding with russia -- somehow she supposedly colluded with russia and comey to win the election, but lost.
she's really, really, bad at being crooked because none of her schemes ever seem to work.
but she's really, really good at getting away with it somehow because she's the most investigated human being in all world history yet she's never even been charged with anything.
it all makes sense if you drink the kool-aid i guess....
