There's no actual political advantage in continuing to cover for Russia. It has to be something more than just vanity about the election that's compelling Trump to this epic defense of Putin.
It's as clear a pattern of guilt as any I've seen. Trump will go to any lengths to postpone the inevitable finding of culpability or guilt, even throwing out outrageous and embarrassing lies, just so long as the ultimate judgement is kept at bay. He's determined to do this indefinitely.

(22,100 posts)'e' attacks...we must be on guard at all times, report any and all infractions or unusual traffic, emails, and the like, to our carriers immediately, or simply ignore.
Remember, there are only a relatively few Russians vs. billions of us in the world, so don't go thinking that there are Russians everywhere and that they are influencing things on a massive scale...
...just think about this and all of the people who work in some sort of online industry that is trying to gen up support via online for their company's products and / or services, and how hard it is, to get hits etc.
It's not easy. The Russians and others have the exact same problem...
A little healthy skepticism and being alert goes a long way.
