...to destroy California, and would NOT result in more Democrats in Congress. California sends some of the most rabid GOPpers to the House you can imagine, and my old coastal district has been hotly contested ever since Michael and Arianna Huffington waltzed into town and bought the seat. Money just flows in from out of state Republicans, and it has been very hard for the Dems to keep holding on.

I know it is against the US Constitution. It is specifically addressed that they can't split up existing states without some serioue hoops to jump through. The only time it happened was during the Civil War when what is now W Virginia didn't join what is now Virginia in seceding.

they are the kooky, lunatic fringe and not fit to be a part of normal society. If they want to invent their own wacko country maybe they should buy a remote island and have at it, but stop trying to force their craziness on everyone else.
