(NY charity statute does not allow AG to bring criminal charges without specific authorization from governor and that is why only civil lawsuit had been brought to date)

David Caye Johnston (Trump biographer) had posted on DU asking us to help with this:

the investigation is of the Trump Foundation, so unless it shows that funds from the Foundation went into any of DOlt45's personal OR business accounts, or those of his children, then that would be the only way their personal tax returns could be required. But I think we've already seen some proof of that, no?

When the foundation paid a $100,000 penalty owed by mar a lago did Trump pay tax on it? When Trump got portraits and other items from the Foundation did he include the value as taxable income? We need his tax returns to find out.

This bastard and his grifting family are going down one way or another. The absolute nerve of them to carry on the way they do considering the scrutiny they are under. They really believe that they are untouchable and above the law. I cannot wait to see them fall spectacularly!

I know she's running for AG.
I applauded Gov Cuomo for finally being able to move this forward.
It HAS been discussed for sometime.

Its not her sole idea but makes for a fine darned campaign ad I'm sure.
Gov Cuomo doesn't take his orders from her. This has been discussed for quite sometime.
Even before she spoke up.
So there's that.

He was AG of NY before becoming Governor. He prosecuted based on law and fairness, he did not use the law as a weapon against his political opponents. The Foundation executives should be frightened.

And what's probably the best thing about this whole thing is that the only ones that are going to be caught are rump and sons. They are too cheap to pay anyone else involved in any kind of reasonable amount of money, and since they used these charities as a personal checking account for their own personal expenses and to commit fraud, they are going to be guilty of criminal fraud, both federal and state (the federal laws being violated will come later)...

And what's really bad about this whole mess is that true charities are suffering because these pieces of shit really didn't want to contribute to good causes/good charities but actually avoid their tax obligations to this country despite the large amount of money they're already made.

Nothing is enough for these pieces of shit, nothing.
