The verb meddle has to go. Media, stop parroting yourselves.

Politicians, please stop parroting the media.

Intrude or invade are accurate verbs for what happened. Use a dictionary please, and remember George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language."

Thanks.

as I can't stand using an adjective as a noun in politics: Inaugural instead of inauguration, oval instead of oval office, etc.

Making a verb out of a noun is popular now. I know language changes and am a professional who appreciates that, but this is some lazy, pop-culture junk.
