More trouble on the horizon for Junior

The FBI has obtained secret wiretaps collected by Spanish police of conversations involving Alexander Torshin, a deputy governor of Russia’s Central Bank who has forged close ties with U.S. lawmakers and the National Rifle Association, that led to a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. during the gun lobby’s annual convention in Louisville, Ky., in May 2016, a top Spanish prosecutor said Friday.

José Grinda, who has spearheaded investigations into Spanish organized crime, said that bureau officials in recent months requested and were provided transcripts of wiretapped conversations between Torshin and Alexander Romanov, a convicted Russian money launderer. On the wiretaps, Romanov refers to Torshin as “El Padrino,” the godfather.

“Just a few months ago, the wiretaps of these telephone conversations were given to the FBI,” Grinda said in response to a question from Yahoo News during a talk he gave at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington. Asked if he was concerned about Torshin’s meetings with Donald Trump Jr. and other American political figures, Grinda replied: “Mr. Trump’s son should be concerned.”

Circle of Hands by Uriah Heep

Circle of Hands
Cold spirits plan
Searching my land
For an enemy
Came across
Love's sweet cost
And in the face of beauty
Evil was lost
Sky full of eyes
Minds full of lies
Black from their cold hearts
Down to their graves
Murdered the dawn
Spreading their scorn
Cursing the sun
Of which love was born
We must…

"We must sacrifice, the future has its price
And today is only yesterday's tomorrow."

I saw the Heep in their first American gig. I was mesmerized. They were not even the headliner. (Of the four bands that played that night, they were the only ones to last for longer than a couple of years.) But I remember that during one of the intermissions, Mick Box came out, sat on the edge of the stage and just played for us. It was awesome !!

I still have this album (well, the CD), and also "Look at Yourself" and "Salisbury."

and during one song Lady and Black, the bass was so heavy and Ken Hensley was just putting it down with the Hammond organ and piano, and Thain was just jamming.........and my hair was moving ..and Mick Boxes voice could just go to any octave ...man they were a good band to listen too...............live............................

That song Circle of Hands live was amazing.................saw them on there Stealin Tour.

I saw them with Manfred Mann Earth Band............and Manfred Mann on that Moog Synthesizer was absolutely amazing he picked up ever instrument playing and everyone walked off and you could see the screen of notes being generated by him on the Synthesizer it was amazing to see and listen too..................

And they played this song....................before the release...............amazing

José Grinda Gonzalez, a veteran prosecutor in a Madrid anti-corruption unit, has become Spain’s leading law enforcement expert on Russian mafias.

Snip

Grinda, a bearded workaholic with a dry sense of humor, persuaded Litvinenko to testify against the mobsters in Spain. But only months later, the would-be star witness died an agonizing, almost public death, having been poisoned with radioactive material slipped into his tea at a London hotel by two men believed to have been hired by the FSB. A British inquest later concluded that the operation was “probably approved” by Putin himself, in retaliation for Litvinenko’s accusations against Russian officials and his cooperation with British and Spanish intelligence agencies. Newspaper photographs of the cadaverous former spy, staring out from his hospital bed, shook the Spaniards. But the evidence that he might have been killed on Russian government orders gave a new sense of credibility to their work.

“We had accepted the idea that the world of the Russian mafia was like that,” Grinda said. “But it’s true that the case made other people think this gentleman had told the truth, because now he was dead.”

Long, immaculately detailed article about Spain fighting organized crime:

We have Mr. Muller & Co., while Spain has Jose Grinda & Co.
and they’re not fuckin around

Hats off
