Trump: Clapper "wrote me a beautiful letter, and all of the sudden he's haywire. They got to him."

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/07/got-trump-creates-conspiracy-theory-justify-ex-intel-directors-recent-attacks/

“You know, like everyone else, I’m struggling with some way to capture or describe what we just witnessed. It is truly unbelievable,” Clapper said on CNN Monday, after Trump’s press conference. “On the world stage in front of the entire globe, the President of the United States essentially capitulated and seems intimidated by Vladimir Putin. So it was amazing and very, very disturbing.”

“He just is very reticent about direct personal confrontation,” Clapper continued. “So just as he did in the UK with Theresa May, bad mouth her in an interview, but yet when faced with a personal confrontation, a personal engagement, he won’t do it. It’s even worse when it’s our arch adversary, Russia, and his opposite person, Vladimir Putin… While he likes to project the image of being a tough guy, he really isn’t.”

Wednesday, Trump told CBS that he has “no confidence in Clapper.”

“You know, Clapper wrote me a beautiful letter when I first went to office and it was really nice and all of the sudden he’s haywire,” Trump said. “Because they got to him and they probably got him to say things that he probably doesn’t even mean.”

The White House has become an insane asylum, but the inmates are permitted to do and say whatever the hell they want.

Trump has the right wing mindset on steroids. Think about it, anyone that does not agree with right wing talking points is "the liberal media" that is the strategy. Trump ramps it up to say, "Anyone who doesn't support me without question is compromised" By who and how is irrelevant. The right wingers have been so conditioned to respond that they will reflexively agree.

The model lead to Trump but it is ultimately bigger than Trump. The idea of a "right wing media" was being discussed in the 60's and 70's because it was getting more and more difficult to fool the average person with policies that mostly benefited the wealthy. Appeals to racism were effective to a point and appeals to religion, but it was a shrinking demographic. It still is which is why a right wing media bubble had to be created to insulate a base of people from information. It is the reason that Russia, China, and North Korea have state run media.

The media we consume is the reason that we as the Democratic Party are sometimes less than unified. It can be a pain in the ass sometimes but we have different perspectives and priorities, which is ultimately a good thing if we can come together. We are not in lock step like the right wing following error filled narratives and being lead against our own interests.

Trump is the extreme manifestation of right wing thinking but ultimately he is just the product of the system which is what must be defeated.

Democratic and Republican administrations. Trump is using his office to enrich his fortune and boost his enormous ego.

I may not agree with any of them on different issues, but I will place more credence in what Clapper and Brennan say about what is happening in regards to national security issues.
