Wow. Joyce Vance: Detail in NYT story suggests Trump has already burned those sources to Russia

No one in a position to be the source for the NYT’s reporting tonight would have burned a sourced close to Putin. The only reason that detail would be included is because Trump, who was briefed in Jan 2017, burned the source to Russia just like he burned Israeli intelligence.

She was commenting on the Twitter thread starting here:

This sensitive intelligence didn’t leak in this kind of detail through all the sturm and drang of the last year and a half. Trump’s fawning behavior in Helsinki shook this loose and into public view.

I’d speculate the intel sources here reasonably concluded that Trump has already burned their sources and methods to Putin.

The conclusion itself, without sourcing, the US intelligence community has more or less said publicly all along.

I'd like that.

18 U.S. Code § 794(a):

Whoever, with intent or reason to believe that it is to be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of a foreign nation, communicates, delivers, or transmits, or attempts to communicate, deliver, or transmit, to any foreign government, or to any faction or party or military or naval force within a foreign country, whether recognized or unrecognized by the United States, or to any representative, officer, agent, employee, subject, or citizen thereof, either directly or indirectly, any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, note, instrument, appliance, or information relating to the national defense, shall be punished by death or by imprisonment for any term of years or for life, except that the sentence of death shall not be imposed unless the jury or, if there is no jury, the court, further finds that the offense resulted in the identification by a foreign power (as defined in section 101(a) of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978) of an individual acting as an agent of the United States and consequently in the death of that individual, or directly concerned nuclear weaponry, military spacecraft or satellites, early warning systems, or other means of defense or retaliation against large-scale attack; war plans; communications intelligence or cryptographic information; or any other major weapons system or major element of defense strategy.

High crimes and all. To not do so would mean he is above the law.

I feel as if we're living in The Twilight Zone.

All hell should break loose after Aug 11 primaries so that these R's don't have to worry about being "primaried" out of office by a rabid base.

1 person had already been killed because the Steele memos became public? Right after this dossier was published there were stories of a Russian, military officer, iirc, who was grabbed, had a hood put over his head, handcuffed and dragged off out of a meeting.

Now we are seeing all the pieces around the incident come together.... what a massive, foaming vomit of nouveau-riche oligarch culture. It's people drunk on rapidly acquired money after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Their ethical circuitry has been bipassed by the cocaine of inordinate amounts of money.

Was the guy kidnapped at the Putin meeting ever I.D.? There was a
Major Dmitry Dokuchaev arrested that week or did the kidnapping happen
later? Also, Sergei Mikhailov FSB and a cybersecurity manager named
Steyanov. Don't know what happened to them. Were they trying to cut a deal or maybe thought Putin was selling out Russia. Sorry if misspelled. Unfortunately, the nouveau-riche oligarchic culture
has many sycophantic supporter wanna-bes.

he is serving on a gold platter our intelligence sources to a known adversary. The traitor is going to get someone, or more than one in our intelligence community, killed if he hasn't already. Will the lackeys in congress then act? Or is the deal done and they have sold out the entire country? How much longer must this continue?
