released their name, and some in congress now supposedly want to question them. Phew, I would hate to be in that position.

(16,784 posts)For if anything happens to this woman, all fingers point to Putin.
THAT Trump and Congressional Republicans will not be able to deny.

(4,267 posts)Come on. This translator is a professional and probably more than on board with the Dump admin.

(31,261 posts)She could like Trump's butt twice per week, it would not matter, if she is more of a risk to them than an asset, she is gone.

Don't fight it because it's just gonna blowback on the translator, should doesn't make enough as it is.

(694 posts)I do not know it, don't want to know it.
As much as I'd like to know what was said, this person wasn't hired to be a fly on the wall.
I'd rather let Putin's fly tell us what happened. His life isn't in danger.

(14,966 posts)you either reluctantly fill the role out of some sense of duty, you're an irresponsible oblivious moron, or you are a kool-aid drinking true believer.
I don't believe in the slightest that someone capable of filling the role of translator between the hardly-even-monolingual US President and known-to-be-even-though-he-doesn't-advertise-it-multilingual Russian "President" (*cough* dictator *cough*) is so desperate for a job that their choice is go ahead and translate this meeting or get fired and starve. Let's not pretend they have no other career options.
If the first, I welcome their dutiful embracing of the risk of doing their full duty to the republic. If the second, I don't care what happens to them. If the third, they can burn. In any case, I'm not crying about it.

(31,261 posts)She had better figure out how to get to Bob Mueller tomorrow. Because if she doesn't she is likely coming down with an untraceable illness, if she doesn't already have it.

(31,261 posts)If she heard something, they won't come after her right away, they will study her habits for a way that they can discretely get to her. US Intelligence should be a second shadow for her right now, at least until it becomes clear what was said in that private meeting.
